Headed to Venice, Italy
The drive from Austria to Italy was through hundred of kilometers of vineyards - so beautiful. We arrived at our cabins around 1:30 P.M. and had free time until 3:30 P.M. when we had to catch our ferry to the island of Venice. In the meantime, I enjoyed a Birra Moretti with the girls at the pub. The ferry took us to Venice. We all walked to the Piazza San Marco and then had about an hour and a half to explore. I went with Marcia, Alvin, Dan, Kyle, and Praj through the shops to the Rialto Bridge. Then met the groupd back at the Piazza to walk to take a gondola ride. Marcia, Alvin, Kyle, Praj, and I shared a gondola ride through the canals. Then on to dinner - the four of us plus Jessica, Dan, Megan, and Nicole went to get pizza and wine for dinner.
After dinner we walked along the waterfront and met the group back at 9:00 P.M. in the Piazza. Back at the Piazza two police officers were harassing two of the Indian boys from our town - apparently they looked suspicious and they wanted to see their passports. Back on the ferry we realized that we were missing 5 people - the four Canadian girls and Lucy (Australia) - I hope they make it home on their own tonight.
